Release your baby’s inner bear – let the climbing commence!

Your baby may be starting to climb and move around more confidently, almost bear-like. Their upper body gross motor skills are further developing and they are now gaining the ability to use their arms and legs in a more coordinated way.

They will most likely use their arms to pull themselves up and their legs will scramble after. They may have a strong urge to explore everything they come into contact with and they won’t wait for someone to help them before tackling the next climb.

If they can reach it, they'll probably climb it

There are quite a few things in the home that your baby will find attractive to climb, these might include their cot, stairs, beds, furniture, tables, chairs – basically anything they can! Climbing opportunities should be encouraged, but you'll need to have your eyes wide open to keep them safe while they explore these new heights and terrains.
