Five songs for your kitchen disco that you and your child will love

There are probably only so many times you can listen to 'Pop Goes the Weasel', or 'We Don't Talk About Bruno' from Encanto! Finding pop music to share with your child can feel like a bit of a minefield at times – pretty much everyone has turned up their favourite track before realising that it might not quite be as three-year-old friendly as they originally thought.  

Here are some of our favourite parent- and child-friendly kitchen disco bops.  

1. Treat People with Kindness, Harry Styles

Harry Styles might possibly be the most universally-loved boybander-turned solo star. Treat People With Kindness is a fun and upbeat track that you just can’t help tapping your feet and spinning along the kitchen tiles too – plus, it has a positive message to boot! 

2. Don't Start Now, Dua Lipa

Dua Lipa's Don’t Start Now is an infectious party track which is sure to turn your kitchen into a glittering dancefloor. 

3. The Other Side, SZA and Justin Timberlake

Some children may recognise this song from the Trolls movie series. Although it is from a children’s film series, The Other Side is one that everyone in the family can enjoy and dance to! 

4. Firework, Katy Perry

Like Treat People With Kindness, Firework is another upbeat, easy-to-dance-to song with a nice message attached. 

5. Wouldn't it Be Nice, The Beach Boys

It's a classic for a reason! Wouldn’t It Be Nice is short, sweet and upbeat, and perfect to dance to with your little one.
