Five apps to support you on your parenting journey
While we want you to find all you could ever wish for here (!), we just had to share these five other apps with you. We think they're brilliant for keeping your mind and body enriched, as a parent and also as a person, beyond who you are as a Mum, Dad or carer.
Headspace
If you’re new to mindfulness and its benefits, this app is a great way to do short bursts of it at times of the day that suit you. With thousands of guided meditations, it can help you get to sleep, sleep better and find support through periods of anxiety and stress.
BBC Good Food
Find you’re getting to the end of the day and think, what on earth am I going to eat tonight? Then this app is for you. You can search by food type, time to prepare and cook, and it's jam-packed full of recipes that are updated for the season. It even shows you baby- and child-friendly recipes, so you can make a little bit extra to share with your child the day after.
Kids Pass
This handy app allows its members to search attractions, restaurants, cinema deals and much more. It instantly finds offers local to you, and you can buy discounted tickets to loads of family-friendly attractions.
AllTrails
This is essentially a walking app. But if you need some new places to get your baby off for a nap, it’s brilliant! You can search for child-friendly walks, and you might just discover a local hidden gem that you’ve never noticed before.
1 Second Everyday
If you like to sit back in the evening and look at photos you’ve taken of your child, you'll really like this app. Record your child for one second every day and it creates a video for you. It's a beautiful keepsake to share with loved ones, and you’ll see just how far you’ve both come over the months (and it doesn't matter if you don't remember to do it every day, it will collate whatever you have managed to record).
