Everyday objects that can be used for building and construction
When it comes to building and construction, sometimes you can skip buying expensive toys and reach for some real-life objects instead that are just as fun.
Cups
Old plastic or paper cups are great for stacking, building and more. You could even experiment with using the different sides of them – slotting them into one another or balancing them to make wobbly towers.
Cardboard rolls
Keep hold of any rolls from kitchen or toilet roll to construct with. These make great turrets on castles!
Cardboard boxes
Boxes of different shapes and sizes are super fun to experiment with building and constructing. Boxes from toiletries and beauty products are great for small scale construction, and larger boxes are fantastic for building dens and role play games. And don't forget the ever-versatile egg box!
Pots and pans
As well as being fun to use as drums, pots and pans are great to stack and build with.
Food containers
Plastic food containers come in a range shapes and sizes that can be used to construct a wide variety of things. You could use foil containers, too, as long as the edges aren’t sharp.
