While your baby is learning to sit they are gaining valuable skills which will support them to write and draw when they get older.
Your baby is gaining postural control which means they are learning how to maintain an upright position. Their ability to sit upright will improve and they will be able to sit for longer periods of time as their bodies learn to balance and stabilise themselves. Postural control also provides a secure base for the arms and legs to move freely. When writing, the body must be able to sit in a stable position while controlling arm movements.
