Watermelon lolly recipe
Keeping yourself and your child hydrated in the heat can feel a little tricky. We all need to take in more water when the temperature rises, and upping your child’s water intake can be a worry – especially if they are not a fan of water!
A good way of consuming more water is to eat foods that have a high water content. There are many fruits and vegetables that are mainly water, making these ideal side dishes and snacks on sunny days.
If you are looking for a tasty snack for a hot summer's day, give these single-ingredient watermelon lollies a try. Always make sure that your child is supervised when eating lollies.
You will need:
- A watermelon – prepackaged watermelon fans work well too
- Lolly sticks
How to:
- Slice your watermelon into triangles, each around an inch thick
- Slide a lolly stick into the rind of each slice
- If you don’t want to eat your lollies straight away, pop them into the freezer to keep them fresh and cool
