Children learn lots when helping to prepare food- and everyone needs food so there are times every day to practise, making cooking a wonderful learning opportunity.
Apples are at their best right now and because of this are usually cheapest in the shops, or being given away by anyone who has an apple tree. It is also the perfect pudding to make you feel autumnal.
It is important to keep yourself and your child happy, healthy and hydrated in the summer heat. It is recommended that we should all increase our water intake on those hot and sticky days, and as well as drinking plenty of fluids, eating foods with a high water content is a great way to do so.
Keeping yourself and your child hydrated in the heat can feel a little tricky. We all need to take in more water when the temperature rises, and upping your child’s water intake can be a worry – especially if they are not a fan of water!
As with all our recipes, allowing your child to do as much of the process themselves, where appropriate, is key in supporting their learning and development.
These are super delicious with soup or try as a new yummy snack! Your child can take part in helping you with most of the steps of this recipe and they always turn out tasty.
