Pitta bread pizzas are a quick and simple alternative to traditional pizzas. They are great for an easy lunch or dinner in the summer, and delicious served with a fresh and crunchy side salad.
Your child will love helping to mix the herbs and tomato purée and choose their own toppings to make their perfect pizza.
You will need:
- Pitta breads
- Tomato purée
- Italian herbs
- Cheese (grated mozzarella or cheddar works best)
- Toppings of your choice
Method:
- Pre-heat the oven to 200°C and place your pitta breads on a baking tray.
- In a bowl, mix two tablespoons of tomato purée with a sprinkle of Italian herbs and a teaspoon of water. Add more water if you prefer your sauce thinner.
- Use a spoon to spread the sauce on the pitta. Sprinkle on your cheese, saving a little.
- Prepare your toppings and add them on top of the cheese.
- Sprinkle on the remaining cheese, and add a little extra of the Italian herbs.
- Cook in the middle of the oven at 200°C for around 10 minutes.
