Easy pitta bread pizza

Pitta bread pizzas are a quick and simple alternative to traditional pizzas. They are great for an easy lunch or dinner in the summer, and delicious served with a fresh and crunchy side salad.

Your child will love helping to mix the herbs and tomato purée and choose their own toppings to make their perfect pizza.

You will need:

  • Pitta breads
  • Tomato purée
  • Italian herbs
  • Cheese (grated mozzarella or cheddar works best)
  • Toppings of your choice

Method:

  • Pre-heat the oven to 200°C and place your pitta breads on a baking tray.
  • In a bowl, mix two tablespoons of tomato purée with a sprinkle of Italian herbs and a teaspoon of water. Add more water if you prefer your sauce thinner.
  • Use a spoon to spread the sauce on the pitta. Sprinkle on your cheese, saving a little.
  • Prepare your toppings and add them on top of the cheese.
  • Sprinkle on the remaining cheese, and add a little extra of the Italian herbs.
  • Cook in the middle of the oven at 200°C  for around 10 minutes.
