Many UK families are eligible to receive support for childcare costs
There are many childcare clubs and schemes available for families with children, but many can feel the cost of these can be too expensive. However, there is some support available to cover the costs of childcare.
Research by the government suggests that 1.3 million families could be entitled to receive up to £2000 a year to pay for regulated childcare.
If your family is eligible, the Tax-Free Childcare scheme will provide you with up to £500 every three months to help pay towards holiday clubs, before and after school clubs, nurseries and other approved providers. For families with children who have disabilities, this figure could be up to £1000.
For every £8 that is deposited into a Tax-Free Childcare account, the government will top this fund up by £2. This applies until children turn 11, or 17 for children who are disabled.
