As with all our recipes, allowing your child to do as much of the process themselves, where appropriate, is key in supporting their learning and development.
So, think about if they can weigh, chop, or pour independently, as this is where the real learning comes in!
A perfect summery side dish, or something fun to dip in your favourite sauce!
You will need:
- Sweet potatoes
- Seasonings of your choice – smoked paprika works well!
- Cooking oil
How to:
- Pre-heat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius
- Peel your sweet potato and cut into strips – as chunky or as thin as you fancy
- Boil your sweet potato in a pan of water for approximately four minutes. Start on a high heat and then reduce to a simmer once the water boils.
- Once cooked, drain your sweet potato. They should take around 30 minutes.
- Place the sweet potato on a baking tray, on foil or greaseproof paper.
- Sprinkle with your choice of seasonings and spray or drizzle with a little oil. Shake them on the tray before adding to the oven.
- Bake for half an hour or until crispy, turning over every so often so that they cook evenly.
