Who might we see today? If we do let’s say hooray!

Whether you have plans to see people or not, this game will still work.

What to do

  • If you are seeing people, you could ask your toddler who they would like to see today.
  • Give them a chance to offer a response.
  • If they don’t say anything, name a few people, including the names of the people you are seeing. You could say “I wonder whether we will see Grandma? Or Sita, maybe Tesh? Who do you think we will see?”
  •  It doesn’t matter if your toddler gives you a different name; this could become part of a conversation about the person they have named.
  • When you do meet the person, say, “There is Grandma, hooray!”

Good to know

If you haven’t planned to see anyone, you can still play the game. You can simply say, “I wonder if we will see anyone today? Our post person might deliver some mail. We might see Cath walking past the window. We might see Adam at the park.” Your toddler might continue the conversation and say the name of someone. If you do see any of the people you thought about, you can say, “There is the post person, hooray!”
