We’re going on a texture hunt – we're going to find some ‘scratchy’ things
What you need
- A bag or box to collect objects
What to do
- Set off on an intrepid investigation into textures in your home (or outside).
- Choose one texture, for example fluffy, soft or scratchy.
- When you’ve agreed on a texture show your child an example, then go in search of more objects that feel the same.
- Collect any items you find in a bag or bucket.
- When you find something, talk about what it is and whether it feels the same as what you originally had.
- Once you've covered as much ground as you like, return to base camp and investigate all you have discovered.
- Set off on another quest looking for a different texture if your child is ready for more.
