Jumping in the jungle – what can I see?

What to do 

• Sit with your toddler and think about different animals that can jump. You might want to look at a book about animals or have a little online search together before the activity begins.
• Choose two to three animals, ones which your toddler likes best.
• Explain that you and your toddler are going to jump, just like the animals they have chosen.
• Talk about how different animals jump in different ways. You might be able to find videos of the animals jumping online to inspire you both. You could demonstrate how each animal moves for your toddler to copy.
• Stand with your toddler and tell them the game is starting.
• Pretend you are walking through the jungle and say the following chant: 
  “Walking through the jungle, what can I see? I can see a (kangaroo) jumping towards me.”
• Jump like a kangaroo and encourage your toddler to join in.
• Repeat this for each of the animals and invite your toddler to jump like each one.
