Use photos to help your child remember a journey

What you need

  • A few photos of people or places you visit regularly

What to do

  • Look at the photos together.
  • Chat about how you get to those places.
  • Talk about if it was a long journey or a short one.
  • Ask your toddler if they remember what they saw; you could use your questions to help them put the journey in order. So, “Yes, we went past the shop. Then what did we see?”
  • You could even take some photos of key points along the route next time you go, and look at them with your toddler to talk about the journey you took.
