Use household objects to inspire a story
What you need
- A few household objects that your child can use in their play.
What to do
- Get out a few household objects.
- Give your child time to look at them and see what they do.
- When they’ve looked at them your child might decide to use them in their play themselves.
- If they don’t, make a suggestion or ask an open question (one that can’t be answered with only yes or no) to help them think. For example, “I wonder what we could do with the masher?” or “I think we could use the pan to make some tea for teddy.”
