Group ideas for you and your baby
What to try
- Now your baby is awake for a little longer, you might want to think about some group activities.
- A great (and free!) way to give your baby the chance to watch and listen to people talking is by simply meeting up with friends or family.
- If you're looking for something a little more structured, check online for free organised groups in your area, such as music and rhyme time at your local library, or perhaps a singing and signing session.
- If you want to do some exercise with your baby in tow, you could try baby yoga or swimming 'lessons', and maybe ask a friend (or friends) with babies to come along with you.
- Many areas run buggy fit sessions in local parks – it's not as interactive for your baby but they'll enjoy the high-speed ride in the pram and listening to you socialise with other parents.
- Have a look for local play groups; these often offer low-cost sessions where you and your baby can drop in for a play and chat.
- Wherever you can, involve your baby in these activities so they can watch, listen and begin to recognise some of the people you spend time with.
