Thud, plop, ting! Making sounds with dropping objects
What you need
- A variety of (non-breakable) containers made of different materials; try cardboard boxes, metal pans of different sizes and plastic storage boxes
What to try
- Encourage your baby to drop balls or small toys into the containers.
- Notice what kind of sounds they make and encourage your baby to repeat the dropping action to keep hearing the sounds they like.
- Add another layer of interest by putting different bases in the containers – plastic bags, fabric, tin foil and even water (as long as you have a towel nearby!) will all provide different sounds as your object lands.
