Make nature confetti with your own two hands! Developing fine motor skills outdoors

What to do 

1. Head outside with a basket or bag and collect fallen leaves, petals and flowers from the ground. 
2. Find a space to sit with your toddler and show them how you can tear the petals and leaves into smaller pieces.  
3. Collect your nature confetti in a bag or basket, and when you have finished tearing, give it to your toddler to play with as they wish – they might enjoy sprinkling it around them, seeing it dance in the wind or simply filling and emptying the basket.  

As always outdoors, supervise your toddler and ensure they are not putting anything into their mouth. If you are not sure about a plant, don’t touch it, or use a plant identifier app to help learn more about it.
