Talk with your hands – using gesture to encourage hand movements

What to try 

• When you are doing daily tasks with your baby, like changing their nappy, talk about what you're doing.  
• Use your hands as gestures alongside speech, as this may encourage your baby to move their hands too.  
• You can point, wave, wiggle your fingers or make any other movements that come naturally to you.
