Take a selfie – then look at it and notice what is happening
What you need
- Your phone
What to do
- Every now and then, when you’re in different places or doing something interesting, stop and take a selfie with your toddler.
- At the time, encourage your toddler to notice where you are and to use words to describe what they see.
- You might need to help them out with their language as their vocabulary is ever-growing. You could say things like, “Look, we’re at the playground. I can see the swings. You’re smiling, I think you’re happy.”
- When you return home, look at the selfie again.
- Talk about where you were and listen to notice if your toddler can say any words to describe the photo.
