Swap the puddles for the bubbles – a dry sensory alternative to splashing

What you need

  • Bubble wrap

What to do

  1. Place some bubble wrap on the floor.
  2. Encourage your toddler to stamp and pop the bubbles.
  3. They could experiment with bare feet and also while wearing different styles of footwear.
  4. While your toddler stamps on the bubble wrap, talk about what they're wearing on their feet and how many bubbles you think are popping.
  5. Try this activity loads of times and talk about which method might pop the most bubbles the quickest.

Good to know

Your toddler might not be able to predict which method will pop most bubbles just yet, but listening to you while they pop bubbles will help them to connect what is happening.
