What to do
- Sit down on the floor and hold your baby in a standing position in front of you. Hold your baby under their arms for support. You could say something like, “Look at your strong legs, you are standing! Isn’t this amazing?”
- Keep your baby entertained while they are bearing their weight on their legs by talking or singing to them.
- When you sense your baby’s legs are becoming tired, sit or lie them where you planned to put them.
Good to know
As your baby grows stronger, you can support them just on their back or hips.
