What you need
- Any items that will stack, such as bowls, stacking cups, bath toys
What to do
- Put the stack together in front of your baby, then sit back and watch what they do.
- They might spend time unpacking, examining, connecting, stacking, touching, banging and mouthing the objects – or a combination of all of these things!
- As your baby’s inquisitive nature develops even more, they may start to use the stacking items in a totally different way, perhaps rolling them or using them as containers for smaller objects.
Good to know
Stacking-type objects provide plenty of exploration opportunities; even if your baby has played with stacking cups many times over, the options for fun and developing new skills are almost endless.
