Soft and cosy throwing and catching – a gentle game for a rainy day
What you need
- A pillow or cushion. Alternatively, this can be played with a soft ball, soft toy, or a large pair of socks if your pillows or cushions are too big.
What to do
- Choose a space at home where you can practise throwing a pillow to one another.
- You could both sit on a bed, stand in the kitchen or have one person sitting on a sofa and one standing. Choose whichever format suits you, your toddler and your home.
- Gently throw the pillow to your toddler. They might not catch it every time, but this is fine.
- Encourage your toddler to throw it back – if you don’t catch it every time, that’s good for your toddler to see!
- Carry on playing catch until your toddler shows or tells you they have had enough.
