Soak it, squeeze it, scrunch it – sponges are tremendous for squashing with little fingers

What you need
Sponges, flannels or other soft bath toys
What to do
Introduce some sponges and flannels at bath time, put them in the water so they get soaking wet.
When your toddler is in a playful mood, pick up a sponge or flannel with one hand then squeeze the water from it into the bath.
If they enjoy being splashed, squeeze the water onto your toddler’s shoulder or back as well.
Ask your toddler to help you squeeze the water out of the sponges and flannels.
If they have other toys in the bath, suggest using the sponges or flannels to ‘clean’ them, and then squeeze the water out.
