What you need
- A favourite story book
- Toys or objects that match pictures in the book, for example, toy farm animals and a book about a farm
What to do
- Put the toys somewhere your toddler can see them.
- Find a comfortable place to look at the book together.
- Read the story and ask your toddler to find the toy that matches the picture on each page.
- Give your toddler lots of time to try to work out which toy matches each page.
- Your toy might look different from the picture in the story, and they might not immediately connect that they are the same object or animal.
