What you need

  • A little extra time for routines

What to try

  • When you can, slow down some of your routines with your baby.
  • When you're getting ready to do something, like feed them or change their nappy, move a little more slowly so that they can see some of the objects linked to the routine.

Good to know

Your baby’s vision is developing, and they are just beginning to use both eyes together to focus on objects. Taking time to show them items related to their routine as you move through the day will help them to develop this new skill.

Talk your baby through each stage as you are getting ready and tell them about what you are doing. Over time, this will support their social and emotional, language and cognitive development, as well as helping them to link what they see, hear and feel with that aspect of their daily routine.
