Sign a song – using songs and rhymes to practise gestures and signs

What to try 

• You could start with some songs or rhymes you know well and learn the signs for some of the keywords in the song.  
• Keep repeating the signs and your baby might begin to copy.  

Good to know 

Songs and rhymes are a great way to introduce simple signs to your baby. You might find that they use a sign from a song to let you know which one they would like to sing next. Your baby might also use these actions or signs to request songs during times when you aren’t singing together.
