What you need
- A selection of objects or pictures
What to do
- Put the objects or pictures in front of your child.
- Tell them you’re going to say a word and they need to get the object or picture that rhymes as quickly as they can. For example, you might have a toy cat and say "sat" or a picture of a truck and say "stuck".
- Say a word, and give your child time to pick up the object that rhymes.
- When they’ve picked it up, repeat the two words together.
- Play for as long as they’re interested, you could swap so they say the words and you pick up the objects.
