Quiet time activities – perfect for winding down and recognising tiredness

What you need 

  • Quiet spaces 
  • Playlist of calm music 
  • Time to spend with your child 
  • Paper and crayons 

What to try 

  • When it is getting close to bedtime or naptime (if your child still has a nap) introduce some calming activities.  
  • You could try some different things over time, to see what helps your child to calm. You could try:  
    • Having a little cuddle time 
    • Listening to calming music 
    • Gentle touch 
    • Cuddling a soft toy or stoking a blanket 
    • Reading a story 
    • Doodling
