Push me, pull me – wheeled toys and movement

What you need

  • Push and pull toys
  • Space to play

What to do

  1. While your baby is playing on the floor, find some toys with wheels and place them nearby.
  2. Show your baby how you can push them forward and pull them backward with your hands.
  3. Offer your baby a wheeled toy and watch to see if they imitate your movements.
  4. Encourage them to push the toys along.

Good to know

Push and pull toys are excellent for stimulating your baby and enhancing their coordination and balance.

While you play, you could try to make the sound of the toy you are playing with. For instance, if you had a toy tractor, you might say: “Here comes the tractor, it is driving to you... chug, chug, chug. Oh, it has stopped, it’s going backwards now.”
