What you need
What to do
- When you’re getting ready to go out somewhere you'd usually take a bag with you, for instance a grandparent’s home or a day trip, ask your toddler to help you pack.
- Tell your toddler where you’re going and describe what you’ll do if they’re not familiar with the place.
- Let them fetch things for the bag, which will mean getting ready might take a little more time but if you plan for this you will both really enjoy it.
- If your toddler isn’t sure what they need chat together about the things they would usually take with them.
Good to know
Your toddler will be using all the memories of seeing you prepare for outings to help them pack for this visit. The experience of helping you get ready will delight them.
