What to try
- Involve your toddler in collecting items for you when you go shopping.
- Ask them to get you two oranges (or other items you need).
- Encourage them to count them one by one into the basket or into one of the paper bags they provide.
Good to know
Your toddler might need a little help counting at first, so you could hold the bag and count with them as they put in each item.
