A kiss from me to you – it's good to see you're smiling too

What you need 

• A comfortable position for you and your baby 

What to do 

1. Lie back with your baby or sit comfortably with them in a position where they can see your face.  
2. Play a simple game, saying, "I'm going to kiss you!"  
3. Lean towards them and give them a kiss before moving away and smiling again.  
4. Respond to your baby's reaction. If they smile or laugh, smile back and repeat the interaction. If they seem unsure, continue to talk and smile and notice when your baby responds.  
5. Repeat the actions they enjoy. Repetition will help your baby to remember this game, and if this is something they enjoy, they might begin to laugh in anticipation of your kiss.
