What to try 

• When you are playing, watch to see if your toddler is interested in a certain toy.  
• If they are, you could try and put it in a place they can see, but not reach.  
• Your toddler may alert you with their voice if they notice where it is. If they do, use a playful voice to say, “Oh no, where has your toy gone? Oh, I can see it, it is up there” 
• Quickly offer it back to them before they might start to feel upset.  
• As you bring the toy back, say the name of it. This might encourage them to say it too.
