Notice what your toddler enjoys – set up a play experience that suits their interests
What to do
Think about an activity that your toddler is interested in at the moment. It could be dressing up, a treasure basket, playing with a car track, or pretending to be you!
Go with whatever it is and find some toys or objects that link to their interest.
Put the toys somewhere your toddler can get them themselves – don't feel like you need to set up a particular game, as they might use the toys in a way you don’t expect!
Let your toddler discover the toys and watch (ideally with a cup of tea or coffee!) to see how they choose to play.
