Noisy arm movements – what sounds will your arms make as they move towards the body?

Play this little game when your baby is on your knee or lying on their back.

Think of three silly noises, such as ‘shhhhhh’, ‘bizzzzzzz’, or ‘ttttttttt’, these sounds can be whatever you wish them to be. Hold both of your baby’s hands. You are going to do three actions that will support their understanding of bringing their hands to the centre of their body. With each action, make a sound. Keep the sound and action consistent so your baby can make links between them both.

Action 1 – hold their hands and help them to clap them together.

Action 2 – gently tap their chests with both their hands.

Action 3 – stroke their lips with both their hands.
