Morning affirmations – start your day remembering your strengths

What you need 

  • A mirror 

What to do 

  • Look in the mirror together.   
  • Tell your child some of the positive things you think about them, and then get them to repeat these as affirmations.   
  • You can make up any affirmations which feel good to you.
  • Some simples ones to use are, “I am kind.” “I am funny.” “I am loved.”   
  • Think of some for yourself, too, so your child can see how you remember the positive things about yourself.   
  • Make them part of your daily routine, perhaps saying them when getting dressed in the morning, or as part of your child’s bedtime routine.
