Mix up the fancy dress box to add to the fun of playing ‘grown-ups'
What to try
- You don’t need to buy expensive, child-specific fancy dress! Go on a charity shop rummage, or raid the back of your wardrobe for some fun clothes your child can try on and play with.
- Larger adult clothes can be easier for them to put on while they are first mastering getting dressed, and can offer lots of opportunities to try fastening buttons, zips or poppers which are larger so easier to handle.
- Why not set aside a small amount of money to give to your toddler to spend at a charity shop? Or create your own ‘shop’ at home from items you own and let your toddler 'buy’ ones they want to add to their dressing up box.
