What to do
- Before you get ready for a meal ask your child to help you get everything ready.
- Talk to them about what you might need.
- Give them the things they need so they can put them where you’re going to eat.
- Eat together and chat about anything you or your child wants to talk about.
Good to know
Everyday conversations are fantastic for practising taking turns and listening. Even if you’ve had a busy day, finding time for a chat while you eat or during another routine activity is a great way to support your child’s language development.
