A trip to the park to strengthen your toddler’s hand muscles

What to do 

  • When you go to the park, encourage your toddler to hang from a bar on the climbing frame.  
  • A low bar, so their feet are only just off the ground, is best as their grip won’t be very strong yet. 
  • If they aren’t keen on the feeling of hanging down or pulling on a bar, encourage them to climb on a climbing frame. Holding on and pulling themselves up will use similar hand muscles.
