Looking for images while we play – jigsaws are great for this

What you need 

• A simple lift-out puzzle 

What to try 

• Remove all the inserts and place them around the puzzle board.  
• Ask your toddler to show you where a particular image is, so for example, you might have a farmyard puzzle and you ask your toddler to find you a cow.  
• When they find the picture, show them how to put it into the puzzle – they might find this hard at first.  
• Let them have as many goes as they need to fit the piece themselves once you have shown them, even if it is frustrating to watch!
