Look at those hands! Using reflection to encourage your baby to play on the floor and notice their hands

What you need 

• A mirror or reflective toy 

What to do 

1. Lie your baby on the floor.  
2. Hold something reflective where they can see, or attach a reflective item (one that is baby safe and easy to attach, such as a soft toy with some reflective surfaces) to their baby gym above them.  
3. They might notice the reflection of their hands and watch it closely. 
4. Comment if you see your baby looking at their hands to bring attention to their movements.
