Look at me go – I can fly, land and stop
What to do
- Invite your toddler to pretend to be a flying object. They may choose to be a plane, a fairy, a spaceship, a bird, or anything they want.
- Make up a little story about the object your toddler has chosen to be. In the story, provide opportunities for your toddler to run and stop.
For example, if your toddler is a rocket, you can count down: “Three, two, one... blast off!” Your toddler could run for a brief time before you say, “You are nearly at the moon, start to slow down, and... land.” You could pretend they get out of their rocket and walk on the bumpy ground, before getting back in the rocket and flying back down to Earth. Each time the rocket flies, your toddler runs.
