Let’s hang the washing out. How a simple task can help master this skill

What you need 

• A couple of chairs 
• String 

What to do 

1. Make a child-friendly washing line between two chairs, using a piece of string.  
2. Ensure it is high enough for your child to extend their arms a little.  
3. Give them a basket of socks and some pegs, and see if they can hang all the socks up.  
4. You can make it more interesting by asking them to peg up small toys or teddies.  

Stay with your child while they use their washing line to make sure they are safe.
