What’s easier when getting dressed – standing or sitting?

What to do 

1. While your toddler is getting dressed, work out the most comfortable dressing position for them.
2. Ask them if they are more comfortable and stable when they sit down to put on clothes or is it better for them to stand? They may decide that different positions are appropriate for different clothes.  
3. If there’s time, have a bit of fun and try different positions for different types of clothing.  

Good to know 

You might find that on some days your toddler changes their mind about how they wish to get dressed. Try to be as patient as possible; they might not have had a good sleep or be feeling at their best.  

Over time you'll discover what works best for you and your toddler and they will become more able to help when getting dressed.
