Let’s do it together – involve your child in daily tasks
What to try
- Chat to your child about the things you’re doing.
- Give them part of a task to do, for example, show them how to put items in the dishwasher, or give them a cloth, a large bowl of water and some items to wash.
- Be prepared for tasks to take a bit longer when you have a little helper!
Good to know
Getting your child involved in everyday life supports many of the skills they’re developing when they role play. Children often get really involved in helping with everyday tasks, making this a great way for them to master skills in all streams of learning.
