What to try
Good to know
To help your baby begin to understand where their body is in relation to other objects (the sense of proprioception), encourage them to move and experience lots of gentle touch. This helps them develop an awareness of where their body ends.
A perfect way to do this is to sing simple action songs and gently touch or move their arms and legs in time with the music.
Oh, knees up Mother Brown
Knees up Mother Brown
Knees up, knees up, never let the breeze up
Knees up Mother Brown.
Oh, hopping on one foot
Hopping on one foot
Hopping, hopping, never stopping
Hopping on one foot.
Oh, hopping on the other
Hopping on the other
Hopping, hopping, never stopping
Hopping on the other.
And whirling round and round
Whirling round and round
Whirling, whirling, never twirling
Whirling round and round.
