It’s time to explore something new – it feels funny to me, does it to you too?

What you need 

• Different types of paper 

What to do 

1. Scrumple up some greaseproof paper or wrapping paper.  
2. Hold the paper while you gently place it for your baby to hold and explore.  
3. Give them time to grab, touch and manipulate it with their fingers and hands.  
4. While they explore, talk about the sounds the paper makes and how it might feel in their hands. 

Always supervise your baby and ensure that they don’t have a chance to put the paper into their mouth. You may need to keep hold of the paper while they are exploring it.
